Le 2 au 4 août 2024, la présidente suisse Viola Amherd a effectué une visite d'État en Mongolie à l'invitation de la présidente Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh. Pendant la visite, les deux dirigeants ont signé la Déclaration conjointe Mongolie–Suisse, marquant un tournant dans les 60 ans de relations diplomatiques.
