ULAANBAATAR - Chairman of Mongolia's Parliament
D.Amarbayasgalan held an official meeting with Maya Riniker,
President of the Swiss Federal Council's National Council, on July
29, 2025, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation between
the two nations.
At the beginning of the meeting, Chairman D.Amarbayasgalan
emphasized that Switzerland is Mongolia's third neighbor and a
trusted partner in Europe. He expressed Mongolia's commitment to
expanding bilateral relations and cooperation across various
social and economic sectors.
Strengthening Democratic Institutions
Mongolia has been implementing effective projects with Switzerland
to strengthen democracy, rule of law, and parliamentary systems.
The Chairman expressed gratitude for the successful cooperation in
Swiss parliamentary legislative activities, including the
implementation of public polling and direct democracy principles.
Future Cooperation Plans
Looking ahead, the Mongolian Parliament pledges to support the
expansion of relations between legislative institutions and their
secretariats, fostering practical cooperation in areas of mutual
interest.
Maya Riniker, President of the Swiss Federal Council's National
Council, expressed satisfaction that despite geographical
distance, the two countries share common values of peace and
multilateral cooperation, with their relations continuing to
strengthen.
Parliamentary Exchange Program
As a result of successful cooperation between legislative
institutions and secretariats, a Swiss National Council delegation
will visit Mongolia this fall to exchange best practices in
parliamentary oversight, highlighting the effective nature of
bilateral parliamentary cooperation.
Continued Economic Support
Although the Swiss Development Agency has concluded its operations
in Mongolia, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO)
continues to fund previously initiated projects. The Swiss side
expressed hope that the Mongolian Parliament will continue to
support these ongoing initiatives.

partnership between Mongolia and Switzerland, particularly in
